It all started when…

OOLKA is a musical duo with their crystalline yet warm voice and delicately beautiful yet quietly zealous guitar! The music born from the duo's organic, non-stereotypical and genre-neutral approach has a kaleidoscopic, painterly quality to it, with a kind of luster. The name "OOLKA" was created from an ancient Indian word meaning "shooting star" or "torch". In a society where disparities in information, education, occupation, and health are widening as well as economic disparities, it is easy to get lost in the search for "real me" or "self-worth". Both mentally and physically, stress and exhaustion accumulate at an accelerated rate in today’s society, and it is difficult to reset ourselves. You think you are doing your best and you know you are not “unhappy,” but you can't shake off the feeling of loss or something missing —then, their music is for you. Just as you get a lucky feeling when seeing a shooting star, or just as you feel a sense of relief and warmth from seeing a light when you are lost in the darkness, their music and outlook on life will give you relief and hope, warmth and love.

Aiko (vo.) BD: July 10th Blood Type O

She is a singer-songwriter and can sing in Japanese, English, French, and Portuguese. She spent her teens and twenties in America listening to Electronica, Jazz, Musical numbers, etc. She is also a Philological scholar (D. Lit.) studying the Ancient Indian language, culture, and philosophy. She is a mother of a son.

Friendly and talkative, energetic yet sensitive.

Kai (gt.) BD: July 30th Blood Type A

He has been an eager listener and creator of different kinds of music, such as Rock, Blues, Club Jazz, etc., since he was young; however, he can’t read music (He is a natural talent!). He is also good at handiworks and used to work as a craftsman for artificial legs. He is also good at drawing (according to Aiko). He functions as an anchor for her, the singer who sometimes gets out of control with her multi-tasks.
